HOW TO HAVE A MINDFUL AND JOYFUL NEW YEAR'S IN 2021
New Year’s has been one of our favorite family gatherings ever since Alessia was born. Alessia loves this special winter holiday, because it’s the one night when she gets to stay up late- all the way until midnight!- and welcome in the new year.
Social distancing regulations haven’t changed our typical cozy family New Year’s dinner and count-down tradition, but, like all other holidays, celebrating New Year’s will be different for many families in 2020.
Though large New Year’s gatherings won’t be an option this year, we can still all take time to appreciate the lessons we have learned during this whirlwind of a year. We actually have a lot of things to be thankful for and look forward to in 2021.
Here are some things to consider as you make this New Year’s a time of hope and reflection:
2021 IS THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
Alessia and Mirabela couldn’t be more excited to get behind the UN’s decision to name 2021 the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables.
Alessia loves using fresh fruits and veggies to help Mirabela craft creative and natural dishes in our kitchen.
In 2021, you can help celebrate the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables by planting a family garden this spring, challenging yourself to cook plant-based recipes, or try new fruits and vegetables with your family.
2021 IS THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF CREATIVE ECONOMY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Here at Alessia Adora, Sustainability and Creativity are two of our favorite things, so we are thrilled that the United Nations has decided to name 2021 The International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development.
You can start celebrating this part of 2021 as early as New Year’s Eve of 2020. Challenge yourself to buy sustainable products for your New Year’s celebration, and set New Year’s resolutions to pursue more creative and sustainable living in the years to come.
When we prioritize the joy that creativity can bring into our lives and the hope that sustainability can bring to the Earth, we can look forward to the promise of a more joyful year on the horizon.
2021 IS THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF PEACE AND TRUST
After all the hardship, fear, and division we have all experienced in 2020, it’s time to start prioritizing the things in life that can bring us together and foster hope and joy for all. That’s why the UN has named 2021 the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Many of us have faced immense difficulties in 2020; now it’s time to take these struggles and see how this difficult time has actually made us stronger, more in-tune with ourselves, and more aware of our responsibilities to one another. Help foster peace and trust in 2021 by giving back to your community, practicing mindfulness, and taking nothing for granted.
From our family to yours, we at AlessiaAdora want to wish you a warm and joyful new year. We hope you find inspiration, connection, and lots of adventures in 2021!
